Team China Glory has a new strong asset for the remaining races in the 2022-season. Matteo Malucelli, the former Gazprom rider, will represent the Chinese team in the next races.
Malucelli is a sprinter with a solid palmares. The Italian cyclist won two stages in the Tour of Slovakia, a stage in the Vuelta Aragon, Tour of Antalya and the Volta a Portugal. He also won a stage in the Tour of China I. This year, he won the first stage in the Tour of Sicily with the Italian national team.
Malucelli is excited to be part of China Glory in the next months. His first race with the team will be the Arctic Tour of Norway, at the beginning of August.
“It feels good to be part of this team. I was welcomed warmly, and I cannot wait to join the team at the races”, Malucelli mentioned.
He continued: “China Glory Cycling is an ambitious and promising project. More and more people are getting on board, and that is for a reason. The sky is the limit for this team.”
General manager Maarten Tjallingii is also happy with Malucelli joining the team. “He very much strengthens our squad. Malucelli is a strong sprinter and we can very well use him in our team, both for his performances as well as for his experience that he can share with the Chinese riders.”
The flat stages in the Arctic Tour of Norway are for the Italian sprinter, Tjallingii continues. “He will get our full support in the flat stages to get his second stage victory of the season, and the first-ever victory of China Glory Cycling. We believe we can do this together.”
